Townsend Speakman of Philadelphia is responsible for the cold drinks the world has. He was the first person to mix fruit flavour with soda water in 1807, creating the first flavored soda pop. I think this man falls second in line for the most important inventions relevant to modern society after Alexander Graham Bell.
