50% of vehicle trips in the US involve only the driver.

how lonely. just when i was thinking that i haven't posted anything here since long i get this hutch alert. thank u. so its a ride. a drive. there are empty seats that remain empty. u don't pick up anyone on the way and probably no one offers to join in either. i guess that's what happens when everyone has cars. like today everyone in the family has a mobile, everyone in the family has a car there. so they travel on their own. they dont need their brothers to drop them. when meera got a car, the seven of us would 'somehow' fit into it. being the thinnest (after meera, but she's driving) i had to sit on the lap. not that i mind. one bizzare memory is when we had to open the back of the car and deepak n me sat there with our backs to the rest and our legs twiddling down the car. oh i enjoyed it so much. sometimes it would be the car plus prashants bike. so two ppl come on the bike n the rest in the car. we would drive almost parallely and occassionaly pop our heads out of the window to wave at them or click pictures form our phones. people would decide that today im sitting on the bike with prashant cz late night travels on the bike are so wonderful. and i guess it makes u feel boyish freedom also. anyways i was never game for it. the lesser the people in the car, the more space i get to stretch out and relax. then dhruv got a bigger car so that we all could fit in easily. family planning n all. not in that way.
